our Leadership
Meet Emily Swift!
Unique Pediatric Hearts was founded by nurse and owner Emily Swift, whose passion for pediatric care began with a defining childhood moment: comforting a young boy with terminal cancer. That experience shaped her lifelong commitment to ensuring no child or family ever feels alone in their most vulnerable moments. After years in geriatrics, long-term care, and pediatric nursing, Emily saw firsthand how overwhelming the healthcare journey can be for families and set out to create a service rooted in compassion and clarity.
Today, she leads UPH with a heart-first approach formed through years of hands-on caregiving. Emily chooses nurses who bring both clinical expertise and genuine empathy to every home, and she remains accessible and involved with the families UPH serves. Under her leadership, the team delivers reliable, family-centered care that helps children thrive and gives parents lasting peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions
How are your caregivers selected and trained?
Every caregiver with Unique Pediatric Hearts goes through a careful screening and training process. We conduct background checks, reference verifications, and in-depth interviews to ensure each team member shares our values of compassion and professionalism. Once hired, caregivers complete specialized pediatric training in safety, infection control, HIPAA compliance, and medical procedures such as trach, G-tube, and seizure care. Ongoing education ensures our staff always provide the safest and most up-to-date care possible.
Do you serve all areas of Georgia?
Yes. We proudly provide services across Georgia and continue expanding to reach families wherever care is needed. Whether you live in a major city or a rural community, our nurse-led intake team can confirm coverage in your area and help you get started.
How does Unique Pediatric Hearts support parents and families emotionally?
Caring for a child with medical needs can be challenging, and you shouldn’t have to face it alone. Our team walks beside families every step of the way, offering not only skilled nursing but also emotional support, advocacy, and guidance through the GAPP process. We’re here to listen, encourage, and make sure parents feel confident and supported in their child’s care journey.
